Loss, no matter the degree, affects us all. Whether close or not, our lives must endure such as time opens and closes varying windows. 2019 saw such a window close for one of my closest friends.
Kevin Barnett was family to my wife and I. His passing shook our worlds. A grim reminder of the fragile nature of existence that plays out constantly around us.
These paintings are in tribute, but also look at what this loss of a such a funny, gentle and giant ray of light meant. The world lost someone magnificent, whether you knew it or not. and like any person of excellence, all one can do is pass on their memory any way possible.
These three paintings attempt that.
